Day 17

OK, I seriously just suck!
I won't lie. My period has kicked my ass this month.
The past 4 days I've literally woken up tired. Spent the days with no energy at all and have been eating like crap.

I dont know how much I weigh, I refuse to get on the scale until tomorrow.
I will do my best to motivate myself into starting back up tonight even though I'm just exhausted today.
I volunteer at church from 4-8 so I will do my exercise when I get home!

I WILL do this and see it to the end! I've skipped a few days here and there but when I do work out, I work damn hard and I can feel the difference!


I ate like total crap yesterday. I will go back and edit/update my eats from lunch/dinner.
I had a healthy dinner but then we hit a gas station after church and I went haywire!
I ate 3 out of 4 pieces of a individual pizza, half a bag of salt & vinegar potato chips and a Reeses Whipped candy bar.
I felt like crap afterwards. Serves me right I suppose.



Todays eats:

Breakfast:
2slices of toast w/crunchy peanutbutter
small glass of 2% chocolate milk

Balogna sandwhich with mustard/olive oil mayo & horseradish cheddar cheese
1 pickle

Beef Roll-Ups (recipe coming)
Homemade mashed garlic ranch potatos
Mixed veggies (squash, carrots, cauliflower, broccoli)
Diet Mikes Hard Cranberry Lemonade

Snack:
Brownie

BEEF ROLL-UPS RECIPE
1 package of skirt steak
Flour (any kind you like, I use wheat)
Spices of your choice (I use paprika, pepper, celery salt, garlic salt & Mrs Dash)
Crockpot
Toothpicks
Water or broth


Gather your ingredients

Mix your seasonings with your flour (how much you use of the seasonings and flour depends on how many roll-ups you're making. I make 4 roll-ups each time so I use 1 1/2 cups flour and 2tbsp of each seasoning)

Coat each steak really well, get your flour mixture all in the little holes and crevaces

Then roll them up and pin them together with a toothpick
Place in your crockpot and cook on low for 4 hours

(the bag in my crockpot are Reynolds Slow Cooker Liners ... best. invention. EVER!)

Usually the meat will make its own gravy so there is no need for water or broth. But depending on the cut it may not produce much.
If you check your roll-ups about 2 hours into cooking and see there is no "gravy" at the bottom of the pot and there is some dry flour on the meat, feel free to add up to 1 cup of water or broth.
When they are done cooking, if you see dry flour on them still, baste the dry flour with the "gravy".

Days 15 & 16

Well .... there was no day 15. *loser*
I think I skipped day 14 exercise as well *double loser*

Yestrday (day 15) we had a pretty good snow storm and no power for a good chunk of the day.
We hit the mall to get the kids some electricity and warmth and a hot lunch at the food court.

I woke up at 156.6 yesterday (woot)

Today I woke up at 158.4 (booo, hissss)

So yeah, I deserve to be fat right now. And I've made peace with that.

Today I'm getting back on the wagon with this shred. Day 16, here I come!!!!!

Yesterdays eats (no pics..... but I did find my memory card so YAY!)

Breakfast: None
Lunch: Philly cheese steak sammich w/vinegar fries & diet Dr Pepper from Charlies in the mall
Dinner: 3 slices of pizza
Snacks: 1 banana cream pie snack cake, a butt load of Frito's and all the Diet Pepsi you can handle

Day 14

Well. UGH!

I gained 2lbs. Scale said 158 this morning.
FTW

I know its normal to fluctuate and you're not supposed to weigh yourself everyday.

Blah. Blah. Blah.

I took a picture of the scale and of my lunch. But I lost my memory card.
No joke. I suck at life. :(

I set it on the computer desk as I was coming in here to eat. It somehow got knocked off the desk and is now M.I.A.

*pout* *cry*
(i also had about 47 pictures on it i took of my kids playing outside yesterday)


So anyway .... workout will be tonight after the kidlets are in bed.


I won't lie. I'm on my period and I feel like shit. I'm tired. I'm in a pissy mood.
And all I want to do is lay in bed watching tv with a giant bag of salt & vinegar potato chips and a huge bottle of chocolate milk.

My lower abs are slowly becoming not as sore as they were but I can still feel that they are being worked.
My back hurts. My arms don't feel firm. I'm not losing weight.
I think Jillian Michaels is sitting back, counting her money and saying "suckerrrrrrrrs!"


Today's eats (no more pics until I go buy a new memory card this weekend)

Breakfast:
Trail Mix .... not sure how much.
I had an "eff it" attitude this morning so I just ate until I was sick of it.
Pepsi Max

Lunch:
2 tuna sandwhiches. 1 on regular wheat bread, the other on a small wheat pita bun. (made with 1 tspn of kraft olive oil mayo and mustard)
1 colby jack cheese stick
Diet Pepsi

Snack:
Brownie

Snack:
cup of hot chocolate

Dinner:
Salsa chicken served over white rice


RECIPE:
4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
1 packet of taco seasoning
1 cup of salsa
1/2 cup sour cream or cottage cheese
crockpot

Put the chicken in the crockpot and pour the taco packet over it.
Cook for 1 hour then add the salsa.
Cook until done (usually high for 3-4 hours, low for 5-6 hours).

Once its cooked, take 2 forks and shred the chicken.
Mix in sour cream or cottage cheese.

Serve over rice, noodles, on a taco, etc...
Can sprinkle with grated cheese or diced veggies.
DELISH!

Day 13

Today is a meh kinda day.
Wednesdays always are. I called in sick to work tonight because my baby girl has a fever :(
(don't worry i told my boss the truth, i would not lie ..... i work at a church for crying out loud! do you know the repurcussions of that!?)

No pics today.

I did take one of my scale but I'm seriously just too lazy to go upload it right now, so you'll have to take my word for it when I say I'm down to 156.0!

Exercise was done by 9:30pm. I wanted to die.

You hear that Jillian??? I wanted to flippin die! Are you happy?
The past 3 days thats all I hear at one point in the video "I want you to feel like you're gonna die!"
Consider it done you crazy exercise nazi bitch!



Todays eats:

Breakfast:
very small bowl of leftover beef stew
tall skinny cinnamon dulce latte from Starbucks

Snack:
Handful of raw almonds

Lunch:
Mac Wrap from McDonalds (BEST. INVENTION. EVAH!)
and a couple hours later I had a grilled honey mustard snack wrap
Diet Dr Pepper

Dinner:
More leftover beef stew, covered in ketchup (hey! it's that time of the month and I like crazy foods right about now, SHUT IT!)

Tomorrows post shall be better .... given I have power. We're due for a winter storm and they keep saying on the news we're probably gonna lose power.
You'd think since they have been expecting it all week they'd get that shit covered so it doesnt go out, right?

Day 12

Oh Jillian Michales!
You may be evil, but you know what you're talking about.

I weighed in at 157.6 this morning.

Level 2 kicked my ass into gear and I worked so hard that I refused to have my pre-bedtime snack last night.

Touche' crazy exercise lady!



My back feels slightly sore, which is odd because I figured my arms would hurt.
*shrugs*
And as the day has gone by, my lower stomach feels a bit sore. Not painful, but you can tell muscles are being impacted by this.

WAIT! I have muscles under all those stretchmarks? Amazeballs!



Once again, I'll be doing my workout after the kids go to bed.
I'm feeling very tired today for some reason.

Anywho ..... So today..... I ate breakfast

Breafast:
2 slices of Sara Lee Blueberry Crumble bread
1 cup of coffee with caramel macchiato creamer
(and yes I'm fully aware my Venom coffee cup is totally bad ass!)



Lunch:
Same as yesterday...salad w/chicken & artichoke hearts *drool*
wheat pita buns w/garlic humus
1 Baby Bel light cheese ball thingie
Diet Pepsi


Snack:
More coffe & mmm....


Dinner:

homemade beef stew in the crock pot (I'm a regular freakin Martha Stewart today!)

Recipe
1lb of lean beef tips
1 small bag of baby carrots

1/2 white onion chopped
1 package of frozen green beans
4 small potatoes sliced

1 can of beef broth
season to taste (I use garlic salt on everything)
throw in crockpot on low for 6 hours, or high for 4 hours

Day 11, Level 2!

UPDATE ... holy hell, level 2 ain't no joke! Screw you Jillian and you're evil ass pushups! My arms are twitching and shaking as I type this. Daaayum!

Ok, so I skipped days 8-10. Clearly I suck at life. But whatevs.
I was so sick this past weekend with a horrible cold. All day yesterday I was having dizzy spells on top of it all.
I had no motivation to exercise or to eat right. I probably could have NOT told my husband to stop at Braums and get me a brownie sundae. And I probably could not have eaten the whole thing in record time. But you can't erase the past, especially when its attached to your ass and thighs.


But I'm feeling slightly better today (at least I"m not banished to the couch) and am excited to do level 2 tonight!



This morning my scale read 157.6 but then I realized I needed to change the battery and after I did that it came out at 158.2




Its depressing. I hate seeing that #. But it is what it is. And it is aweful.
It also doesnt help that I'm getting bloated for "that time of the month" so I dont think that # will go down for a while.

Anywho, I plan to do my exercise after the kids are in bed. Hubby will be gone till Wednesday so I'm on my own. :(

Day 8

Today will be brief. I received some bad news about a relative and its not looking good.
Last night I needed comfort food so for dinner I had 2 bowels of mac & cheese covered in ketchup.
I woke up this morning to the scale saying 158.8. I weighed myself several times to make sure it was right. After my shower I got on again and it said 157.6. I think my battery is dying so I'll grab one tonight when I go to the store.

I'll do my workout tonight with hubby when the kids go to bed. I just dont have it in me to do anything right now but sit around.


Today's eats:


Breakfast:
(late, eating at 10:30am) chicken breast & salad (with cucumbers and carrots w/green goddess dressing)
Chocolate milk

Not sure yet

Taco Bell ....

Day 7

I'm a slacker....I skipped day 6. I came home from work absolutly exhausted and my back was killing me!
But I showed a little willpower! Normally I come home from work and get a snack, last night I did not! I drank a glass of diet pepsi, took my metformin and went to bed! *pats self on back*


I woke up today to being 155.8lbs!!!! YAY!!!!





Workout done by 11am. I am seriously getting bored with it so I blasted some music in the background to see if it would help.



It did .... kinda.

You may ask why I take pics of my food. I take pics of some things that I eat that I really like so I can remind myself that there is healthy stuff in this house that I *want* to eat! LOL



That and I love playing with my camera! :)


Today's eats

Breakfast:
the Weight Watchers yougurt I didn't eat yesterday (it ended up being only half of the yogurt, once my girls saw I had it they came running to mooch)
the little granola packet that came with my mcdonalds parfait yesterday
diet pepsi

Lunch:
Baked chicken breast & salad with salsa & a dollop of sour cream (I was really craving Taco Bell today so this is my substitute)
cup of Celestial Seasons Black Berry Cherry tea (nothing added to it)


Snack:
probably more than I should have ate portion of trail mix
(peanuts, cashews, almonds, raisins and m&ms)

Yet another snack:
2 pickles
probably close to half a bag of microwave popcorn (shared it with my girls)
1 cup of hot green tea w/lemon (nothing added)


Dinner:
Chicken breasts made in the crockpot.
Shredded and mixed in with mac & cheese and broccoli like a gumbo


Let me show you my favorite teas .... This is my way of drinking water.
I hate water, but these yummy (no cal/no sugar/no carb/no caffine) tea's make it bearable!!


I've discovered today that my girls go nuts over these hot tea's! I have had to share every cup I made today so far. The cherry seems to be a big hit!

Day 6

Ughhhh I feel like crap. I've been getting nauseous the past 3 days and I have no clue why. Its bad enough to require Pepto.
Wednesdays are my busy days. I drive 40min to take my daughter to gymnastics in the morning and don't get home till around 1pm. Then I have to be to work (I only work 1 day a week at my church) at 5:15pm so that means we have to eat dinner by 4pm-ish. I get about an hour of down time before I need to start cooking.
Its going to be a challenge to get my Shred done today but I'll try my best!!!


My scale read 156.6 this morning...so I maintained! WOOT! Which is awesome considering the huge shake I drank and oreo's I ate (mmmm oreo's!)







Today's eats......


Breakfast:
Wheat bun w/garlic humus
Weight Watchers strawberry cheesecake yogurt
Diet Pepsi

**I skipped the yogurt, my tummy felt rotten so I stuck it back in the fridge.




Snack:
McDonald's medium regular iced coffee
handful of raw almonds


Lunch:
I was soooo hungry that my stomach was screaming "angus burger & large fry!!!"
Nope I was good, 2 grilled honey mustard snack wraps & a small fruit/yogurt parfet
(and maybe a handful of fries I stole from the happy meals ;)

Dinner:
Walmart take-and-bake pepperoni pizza YUMMY! -- 2 slices

Day 5 ... cont'd

Ok, 8pm and I just finished my workout.

I half-assed it with my 3yr old. I didn't use weights and I followed Anita. I also modified some of the exercises so I am not completely exhausted when I do it with DH in about a half hour.
I did not do bicycle crunches, instead I did a combo of regular and side crunches.

Twice in 1 day for no reason .... I must be crazy.

Or guilty conscience of all the junk I ate AFTER dinner *gulp*

6 oreo's with a half glass of 2% milk
chunk of ciabatta bread with spray butter (hey no cals in the butter!)

Oh and after our workout we're going to watch a movie (Inglorious Basterds) and eat popcorn.
He's on his way home right now with a giant fountain Diet Pepsi for me.

Day 5

I weighed in at 156.4 this morning!!!
I even took a pic to proove it! LOL (the 4oz difference is because of my camera, I thought for sure it would be more because its pretty big)

So I'm back to my 'pre-starting the shred' weight!
My husband will be home tonight (very rare for him to be home during the week) so I won't do my workout until he is home and the kids are in bed. I will update my workout afterwards!



Today's eats:

Breakfast:
Sonic tater tots (med) & sausage/egg croisanwhich
Diet Dr Pepper
BAD! I know! BUT .... my son was late going to school and we both had a rough night so I thought I'd treat us all!

Lunch:
tuna & salad w/green goddess dressing
3 wheat crackers
sprite zero/diet juice
THIS is one of my favorite salads! No frills, simple lettuce, cucumber, tuna & dressing!

Day 4

Holy cow! I started following the chick inthe red shorts. I was dripping sweat!
I thought day 1 was bad, it was a cake walk (mmmm cake!) compaired to doing the exercises "full speed".
Day 4 is done and getting better as I go!
I weighed in at 158.2 this morning. I'm hoping I will continue seeing that # go down!

My 3yr old daughter, Aliya, particiapted with me today since my husband is down state working until tomorrow.
She really enjoyed the punches and crunches (sick kid, she can't possibly be mine).

I find that I really like the dumbell rows, punches & butt kicks more than anything LOL

Have I mentioned I am horrible about drinking? I hate water. I love diet soda. Milk doesnt always agree with me (it makes me feel queezy for some reason, but its hit and miss). I should probably be dead from dehydration by now. I don't normally drink anything until I eat for the first time of the day, which is normally 11am (or later).
I'm making an effort to drink more. So I found that Sprite Zero with a splash of Ocean Spray's diet blueberry pomogranate juice is yummy and I like drinking it!

Todays eats:

Breakfast:
skipped it ... bad I know

Lunch:
leftover pot roast w/carrots, onion, mushroom & potatos
pepsi max
3 double stuffed oreo's (eek)

Snack:
1 white chocolate strawberry ( i made a batch and had to try them out, ya know how that goes!)
handful of white chocolate pretzels (same as above)
water

Dinner:
salad & leftover pot roast meat

And my usual B12 (500mg) and Cinnamon supplements (100mg)
and if I forgot to mention, I'm also on Metformin (1500mg) daily (bedtime)

Thats about it for today. 6 more days till level 2!
I was told it involves alot of pushups and I dred it immensely because my upper body strength is horrid!

Days 2 & 3

I'm a slacker. I didn't do day 2. My reason?
I was exhausted. I was up at 6:30am with only 5 hours of sleep. Spent over 4 hours on my feet watching my sons tournament. Came home to get dinner ready, went to the mall, then went to church and then had date night at home with hubby.
I went to bed in a lot of pain, my chest, arms and back were killing me!
I woke up yesterday (1/16) at 157lbs.
I ate like crap all day so today (1/17) I'm back up to 159lbs. This is the highest weight I've been at in over a year so I feel aweful about myself. :(

Yesterdays (1/16) eats....
breakfast:
mcdonalds sausage/egg/cheese mcmuffin.
hasbrown
biscut
a few sips of oj and a 16oz diet mt dew.
lunch:
about 3 or 4 peanutbutter balls
1 babybell cheese
2 pickles
1 small lowfat lemon blueberry muffin
dinner:
1 chicken breast w/bbq sauce
1 bowl of salad w/green goddess dressing
1 cup of mac & cheese
1 glass of sprite zero

then we had at home date night with a wine/cheese tasting which was wine/4 different cheeses/crackers/grapes.
i dont know how much i hate but i had 1 glass of sangria & 1 bottle of mikes light hard cranberry lemonade.

Today
Breakfast:
bowl of honey nut cherios w/2% milk
3 peanutbutter balls (thankfully they are gone now!)
Lunch:
chicken breast & salad (leftovers from dinner)
Snack:
weight watchers boston cream pie yogur
1/2 banana (it came out to half after my girls got done mooching)
2 small sized dill pickles
Dinner:
pot roast w/carrots, potatos,onion

I did my "day 2" workout today at 2pm. Hubby did it with me, again :) but I may be on my own for the next one LOL
I volunteer at my church Sundays from 4-8p so I'll try my best to get my day 3 workout done by 9pm!

I'm gonna do this! My goal is to be confident enough to post a before & after picture at the end of the 30 days!

Day 1

Hoooly crap. Jillian Michaels is the devil!
I went to Target to get a copy of the dvd since my Amazon order is still MIA.

I made the mistake of doing my workout at almost 10pm after eating a really late dinner at IHOP. So that made it harder than it probably should have been.



My eating today consisted of:
(no breakfast)
lunch:
2 supreme chalupa's and 1 soft taco from Taco Bell.
2 peices of salt water taffy
1 large diet dr pepper
B12 and 500mg cinnamon supplement
Dinner:
3 small strawberry/banana pancakes
hasbrowns, 2 scrambled eggs and 1 peice of bacon
1 diet coke

My eating today sucked. It probably wont be much better tomorrow due to going to my son's wrestling tournament.

My workout.....was hard but great! I made it all the way through. I did have to pause the DVD after 10min to get some water but I am I am proud of myself.
My husband decided to do it with me and I'm so glad he is working out with me, its more fun with a buddy!

I started my day off at 159lbs .... yes I gained weight because I went on carb overload yesterday.

I tested my blood sugar before starting the workout.
At 9:39pm it was 117
At 10:14pm it was 96

Awesome!!!

On to day 2! I can't wait!

Still no DVD

Still haven't received it in the mail.
Called the post office to find out where its at, even with a tracking # they can't tell me anything.
Amazon said to call on Monday if I dont have it and they will replace it or refund it.
If it doesn't come by tomorrow I will just to go Target and buy it , I WILL start this challenge on the 15th with everyone else!

I weighed myself this morning and was 156.6lbs!

I've also signed up for the Biggest Loser Pound For Pound Food Drive Challenge!
I've pledged 15lbs and I can't wait to make this goal!!

Waiting

Still waiting on my dvd to come in the mail.
According to USPS.com (which hasnt been updated since Jan 5th) its still in Pheonix, AZ.
I paid for 3-5 day shipping, it should have been here yesterday.

*sigh*


I weighed in at 156.4 this morning.
I'm having a cheat day so I'm sure that # will be up tomorrow.

Here we go!

I've been struggling to get to my goal weight for about 3 years.
At my hightest, I was 202lbs in October 2005.
In February 2006 I was diagnosed with PCOS and Insuline Resistance and put on Metformin and a low carb/sugar diet.
I lost 17lbs within 2 weeks!
I also go pregnant with my 2nd child (which was the goal of the diet & meds).

After I had my daughter i Nov 2006 I was on a mission to lose weight.
My pre-pregnancy weight with her was 183lbs.
I gained 19lbs bringing me up to 201lbs.
I lost my "baby weight" within 2 months and by the time she was 9mths old I was down to 156lbs!
By the time my daughter was 12mths old I was pregnant again with my 3rd child.
My starting pregnancy weight was 157lbs, I gained 34lbs, bringing me up to 188lbs......which is where this journey began.
I'm done having children, so this weight loss journey is for good, no more "excuses".

By the time my baby was 5 months old I was back down to pre-pregnancy weight. I've held steady between 152lbs and 158lbs for the past year.

It's time to start fresh.
New year. New me. New goal.

Today I stand at 157.6lbs.
My goal is 135lbs.

I am back on my low carb/sugar diet. Still taking Metformin. I've began taking cinnamon pills and vitamin B12 to help boost my metabolism.

The message board I own, we are starting a 30 Day Shred challenge starting on January 15th. There are about 7 of us who will be doing this.
I'm excited to see the results we all get from this challenge!

As soon as we start I will post my "BEFORE" picture. I will also do a halfway and "AFTER" picture!
Everyday I will try to post my experience with the work out and what I have eaten for the day. No hiding. I will hold myself accountable for all food.

I can do this!
